Drunker Charged For Shooting Roommate Over Soccer Game
Hours after the murder...Southbridge Police picked up Garcia for public drunkenness...but let him go early the next morning because Worcester Police hadn't yet alerted other police departments he was wanted for murder. Felix Garcia was arraigned in Central District Court on a murder charge.
Police say Felix Garcia fled to New Jersey after allegedly shooting 26-year-old Juan Hernandez several times after the two got into a fight over a soccer game last month.
Authorities said Garcia, who has at least two aliases, shot Juan Manuel Trejo Hernandez, 26, twice in the back on Oct. 25 during an argument over the soccer game. The men had been drinking.
Garcia's court-appointed lawyer asked that bail be set without prejudice, meaning he could request a bail reduction. His next court date is Dec. 11.
