The first order of business for the more-than 50 incoming House members was a class photo on the steps of the Capitol under a brilliant sun Monday morning. The freshmen, including some 33 Democrats, were also attending orientation meetings on how to set up an office, hire staff and abide by ethics rules.

In the Senate, at least six new Democrats and two Republican freshmen were meeting with their respective leaders.
